Have mixed feelings about this year’s garden, but there are a good crop of apples ripening in our backyard. The tomatoes are still mostly green, the peppers are small, and all the squash has some weird power mold on the leaves that just can’t be healthy. Still, the apple tree did well in its own right, even with the cherry tree encroaching on one side. This fall I think that I’m going to prune that damn cherry way back (we never get any fruit off it anyway) otherwise if only to give the apple tree more room to grow.

So this afternoon made half a dozen pies for freezing, one to bake for dessert tonight with ice cream, and a fresh batch of dehydrated slices for snacks! Still… There remains another bag of apples that need something done with them. What ever that turns out to be, I’m sure it will be tasty good!
